TAP & MUSICAL THEATER
Broadway Theater, America’s Opera, also known simply as “Broadway,” refers to 40 theaters and their performances in New York City.
Shows here are considered the pinnacle of theatrical performances and are widely respected and recognized around the world. Broadway has become so prestigious that it even has its own awards, called the Tony Awards.
In our Tap and Musical Theater Classes dancers study and practice tap technique while also learning the songs, stories, and choreography from the great Broadway shows. They’ll learn about composers and dancers such as Gene
Kelly, Julie Andrews, Rogers & Hammerstein and many more!
This summer’s focus is the beloved
Students will have classical ballet technique classes everyday they will also learn the stories and choreography from the great classics such as Swan Lake, Firebird and Sleeping Beauty. They will learn the story and about the life of the composers P.I. Tchaikovsky & Stravinsky.
They will participate in the set and costume creations for the performance. Thus giving them a comprehensive creative experience.
A big part of the transformative magic of ballet comes when the dancer steps into a costume and becomes a character from another world, another time, another land. Costume design and creation is a high art form in and of itself and a beautiful well done costume elevates the dancer and the dance.
