The 1st Salon Series Performance

Saturday January 26th
37 Greenpoint Ave Suite 105
Doors open at 6:00 show begins at 6:30

Runtime 50 minutes

Our reason for being here at the Ballet Institute is to create an atmosphere and an institution where dance artists can develop and become meaningful contributors to the future of the art form itself.

This intention informs our work from our youngest budding students to the professional dancers that we offer our space to as a place for them to work and create.

We will be offering performances to the public that are compilations of the work created in our studios. Works presented will be curated new dance pieces alongside classical excerpts. Salons will also include musical and visual artists where it makes sense for the works to intersect.

The first salon: The Rite of Winter, will include 4 new dance works by 3 emerging female choreographers along with an excerpt from Giselle’s 2nd act. The name, Rite of Winter, is an hommage to Vaslav Nijinsky’s Rite of Spring, which was so avant-garde that it created a riot in the theater when first presented in Paris in 1913.

Please join us in an artistic intention setting for the new year.

Tickets are $15 and 100% of ticket proceeds will go towards our school’s scholarship fund. Tickets will include the performance and a toast courtesy of our sponsor Ozymandias wines. A wine company whose proceeds support artistic projects & scholarships for students in the arts, and whose wines are produced locally in New York.
