International Ballet Institute has regular performances that are open to the public. These performances include abridged classical ballets perfect for the whole family and salons that have themed talks and presentations of new choreographic, musical and visual works.
A perfect introduction to ballet. Hear the narrated stories of the great ballets and see the characters come to life through dance.
Performances run for 45minutes-1 hour and are recommend for age 3 and above.
It is in the interest of the future of the art form that IBI provides a platform for emerging artists. In order for art to move forward, its contributors must have a space to develop their voices and a way to offer their work to audiences. Salons are 2 hour events with performances & presentations throughout the evening.
The Rite of Winter
The name of this Salon is a nod and a tribute to Nijinsky’s The Rite of Spring (music by Igor Stravinsky, produced & commixed by Sergei Diaghilev), which when first performed at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées on 29 May 1913, the avant-garde nature of the music and choreography caused a sensation and a near-riot in the audience.
Come in from the cold, toast to the new year & enjoy an evening of new choreographic works.
